before you even ask.
Pricing, lead times, file formats, MOQ, shipping. Everything you need to know before ordering custom clothing labels, and a few things you didn't think to ask.
Every question, in one place.
90 of the questions people actually ask us: search it, or filter by topic. Can't find yours? Ask us on WhatsApp.
How do I place an order?
Send us your artwork and the quantity you need on WhatsApp, or use the price calculator on the site. We'll come back with a quote and a sample image of your label. Approve that, and we start production.
How do I get a price quote?
WhatsApp us the label type, size, quantity and your artwork, that's all we need. You'll usually hear back within a couple of hours during working hours.
Do I get to see a sample before you print the whole run?
Always. We send you a clear image of your exact label to check first. Nothing goes into production until you're happy with it. We don't make a physical sample, though. The approval is on the image.
Can I change something after I've approved the sample?
Small tweaks are usually fine as long as we haven't started the run. Once production is underway we can't change it, so give the sample a careful read: spelling, colours, size, layout.
How long does the whole thing take, start to finish?
Most orders are done and dispatched within 7-10 working days once you approve the sample image. If you're in a hurry, ask about rush production, we can often do 3-5 days.
What do you need from me to get started?
The label type, finished size, how many per design, the material you want, and your final artwork. Not sure about size or material? Tell us the garment and we'll point you the right way.
Can I reorder the same label down the line?
Easily. We keep your artwork, colours, size and recipe on file, so a repeat order comes out matching the first one: no starting from scratch. Just mention your previous order.
Do you keep my design saved for next time?
Yes. Once it's approved, your artwork and specs stay on record so reorders are quick and look identical to the last batch.
Can I order a few different designs together?
Sure. Each design has to hit the 1,000-piece minimum on its own, but you can bundle several designs into one order and one delivery.
When are you open?
Monday to Saturday, 10 to 7 IST. WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach us and we usually reply within a couple of hours in that window.
How fast do you reply?
Normally within two hours on WhatsApp during business hours. If it's after hours, we'll get to you first thing.
Can I call or email instead of WhatsApp?
Of course: call us on +91 96649 55791 or email labelwala.store@gmail.com. That said, WhatsApp is easiest for sending artwork and okaying the sample.
What do custom labels actually cost?
Rough starting points: woven labels from about ₹1.50 each, printed from ₹0.80, care labels from ₹0.70. What you pay depends on quantity, size, material and how detailed the design is.
Why is the per-label price cheaper when I order more?
The setup for each design costs the same whether you make 1,000 or 20,000. Spread that fixed cost over more pieces and the price per label drops. Simple as that.
What's the price per label in bulk?
For a standard woven neck label, think roughly ₹2.80 at 1,000 pieces sliding down toward ₹0.90 by 25,000. Your exact rate depends on size, material and colours.
Is there a setup or design charge?
No separate design fee: you give us finished artwork and we make it. Any one-time setup is already baked into the per-piece price we quote you.
Do your prices include GST?
We'll lay the numbers out clearly on your quote. Need a GST invoice? Just say so and we'll show the tax component.
How can I pay?
UPI, bank transfer (NEFT/IMPS/RTGS) or card: the usual Indian options. We take full payment in advance on order confirmation, and it's all spelled out on your quote before anything goes into production.
Do I have to pay everything upfront?
Yes: we take full payment (100%) in advance on order confirmation. You approve your sample image first, so nothing goes into production until you're happy and paid up. You get a proper GST invoice too.
Do bigger or repeat orders get a better rate?
The per-piece price falls at higher volumes anyway, and repeat orders skip the setup step, so yes, bulk and returning customers effectively pay less. Ask for a quote at your quantity.
Can I work out a rough cost myself first?
Yep: the price calculator on the site gives you an instant estimate. Then message us with your artwork and quantity for a firm number.
Any hidden charges I should know about?
None. You see the per-piece price plus any tax and shipping before you confirm. Nothing gets added on afterwards.
Does adding more colours cost more?
For woven labels, a lot of colours or a denser weave can nudge the price up a little. For printed labels, full colour is usually the same price whatever the count. We'll confirm on the quote.
What changes the price the most?
Quantity, above everything. After that: finished size, the material, how detailed the weave or print is, and finishing like folds.
What's your minimum order?
1,000 pieces per design: same whether it's your first order or your fifth.
Why do you have a minimum at all?
Every design needs its own loom or print setup. Under about 1,000 pieces that setup cost makes each label painfully expensive, so 1,000 is the sensible floor for everyone.
Can I get fewer than 1,000?
Not on a fully custom label. 1,000 per design is our minimum. If you only need a handful, pre-made stock size and care labels are worth a look instead.
Is the 1,000 per design or per order?
Per design. Each design needs its own 1,000, but you're welcome to combine several designs into a single order and shipment.
Can I split the 1,000 across sizes or colours?
Usually the minimum is per specific design and colourway. Some variation may be workable. Send us the details and we'll tell you what counts as one design.
How big an order can you take on?
We run anything from 1,000 up to tens of thousands regularly. For really large or ongoing volumes, give us your schedule and we'll plan the production around it.
How long do bulk runs take?
Once you've approved the sample, most bulk orders are made and shipped in about 7-14 working days. Very big runs or lots of designs will take a bit longer.
Can a big order be delivered in stages?
Absolutely. For larger or repeat orders we can phase production and delivery to match when you actually need the stock.
Do bulk orders still get a sample first?
Every single one. No matter the size, we only go ahead after you've approved the sample image. Nothing hits the machines unapproved.
Can I lock in a price for repeat wholesale orders?
We keep your recipe on file, so repeat orders at the same volume come in at a steady price. Confirm your reorder quantity with us and we'll give you the current rate.
What kinds of labels do you make?
Woven, cotton, care, printed, satin, taffeta and damask labels, plus pre-made labels, name & number labels, woven and printed patches, and printed ribbons. If it goes on a garment, chances are we make it.
Woven or printed, what's the difference?
Woven labels have the design woven into the fabric with thread: premium, durable, great feel. Printed labels are printed onto satin or taffeta: cheaper, better for tiny text and lots of colours, which is why care labels are usually printed.
I'm starting a brand, which should I pick?
Most brands do both: a woven label at the neck for the premium look, and a printed satin or taffeta care label for the small print. Order them together and you're covered.
What's a damask woven label?
It's a woven label at very high density: fine thread, tight weave, really sharp detail and a smooth, upmarket finish. Boutique and designer labels love it.
What's a satin printed label?
Printing on smooth satin with a soft sheen. You get full-colour detail with a glossy, premium look: a step up from plain printed labels.
What's a taffeta label?
A firm, budget-friendly printed material, used a lot for care and size labels. Exporters reach for it when they need durable labels in big quantities without paying a premium.
Satin vs taffeta. How do I choose?
Satin is softer, glossier, more premium: good for a brand label. Taffeta is firmer, matte and cheaper, good for high-volume care labels. Different jobs, really.
Cotton vs woven, aren't they the same?
Both are woven, but cotton uses natural cotton thread (matte, biodegradable, eco-friendly) while standard woven uses polyester (sharper, more colour-fast, cheaper). Same loom, different thread.
Are cotton labels actually biodegradable?
Pure 100% cotton, yes. Cotton-poly blends, no. If eco matters to your brand, ask for 100% cotton with no polyester core thread, otherwise the claim doesn't hold up.
Which label lasts the longest?
Woven, especially dense damask, it handles repeated washing best. Taffeta holds up well too, which is why it's a care-label favourite.
What's best for soft, tagless comfort?
Tagless heat-press or soft satin. They sit flat against the skin with no scratchy edge: ideal for innerwear, activewear and kids' clothes.
Woven patch or printed patch?
A woven patch has the design in thread for a textured, premium look. A printed patch is printed, so it handles full colour and gradients better. Either can be sewn on or heat-applied.
Do you make care labels with wash symbols?
Yes: wash-care symbols, fibre content, country of origin and size, all matched to your fabric and made to Indian care-labelling norms.
Can one label carry both my logo and the care info?
It can, and plenty of brands do it: say a taffeta or satin label with your logo on top and the wash symbols below. Saves you having two labels.
What thread colours can I have on a woven label?
A wide range. Most designs land between 1 and 8 colours; more colours or finer detail can affect the price a touch. We match to your artwork or a colour code you give us.
What has to go on a care label in India?
Usually fibre content, wash-care symbols or instructions, country of origin and size. And the wash instructions need to actually match the fabric, that's the part people get wrong.
Do your care labels meet Indian standards?
Yes, we make them to be compliant with Indian care-labelling requirements, with the symbols matched to your fabric type.
Can you add the wash-care symbols for me?
Sure: tell us the fabric and we'll put the right international wash, dry, iron and bleach symbols on, along with fibre content and size.
Do I have to print country of origin?
For most garments sold in India, yes. We can add 'Made in India' or whatever origin applies, on either the care label or the brand label.
Can you match the symbols to my exact fabric?
That's the idea. Give us the fabric (cotton, poly-cotton, polyester, stretch, an ethnic-wear blend, whatever), and we'll set the correct care symbols for it.
Do you do labels for export garments?
We do. That includes the durable taffeta care and brand labels exporters tend to prefer for overseas shipments.
Will a care label survive hotel or hospital laundry?
It has to be built for it. For industrial laundry we'll steer you to materials made for repeated high-heat washing, so the label doesn't fade or fall apart after a few cycles.
How big should a care label be?
Depends how much information it needs to carry and where it sits. Care labels are often small, around 25 to 40 mm wide with folded ends, and we'll suggest a size that fits your content.
Do you design labels for me?
We don't, actually, we manufacture from your finished artwork. Keeping design out of it is what lets us keep prices down and avoid back-and-forth. So please send print-ready artwork.
What artwork files do you accept?
Vector is best (AI, EPS, PDF or SVG), for crisp results. A high-res PNG or JPG can work for some printed labels. Send whatever you've got and we'll tell you if it'll do.
My logo's a bit low-res. Can you still use it?
Sometimes, for printed labels. For woven or anything sharp, we really want a vector or high-res file. Send it across and we'll take a look before you commit.
How should I set up my file?
At the finished label size, vector if you can, fonts outlined, and colours specified: a Pantone or thread code if the colour has to be exact. We'll confirm everything on the sample before we run it.
Can you match a specific brand colour?
Yes, but give us a Pantone or thread reference rather than a screenshot. Screens lie about colour. With a code, we match it properly on the sample.
Will the label look exactly like it does on my screen?
Not necessarily, because screens misrepresent colour and texture. That's exactly why we send a sample image and match to a colour code first, so there are no surprises.
Can you tidy up my artwork for production?
A little production prep, sure. Full design from scratch, no: that's not something we offer, so if the artwork needs creating, get that sorted separately first.
How many colours can my design have?
Woven labels usually run 1 to 8 thread colours; printed labels can carry full colour, gradients and all. Tell us the design and we'll say what's doable.
What folds and finishes can you do?
End-fold, centre-fold, mitre-fold, loop-fold, straight cut, the lot. The right one depends on where the label attaches, and we'll recommend it if you're unsure.
Do you ship anywhere in India?
Every state. We make everything in Ahmedabad and send it out by courier or transport. We only serve customers within India at the moment.
Do you ship overseas?
Not right now, we serve customers within India only.
How long does delivery take?
About 7 to 10 working days from when you approve the sample, covering production and dispatch. After that it comes down to where you are.
Can you do a rush order?
Yes: roughly 3 to 5 working days is often possible, depending on the size of the order and how full the schedule is. Just ask.
Where are you based?
Ahmedabad, Gujarat, and we ship across the country from there.
How do the labels arrive?
Counted, checked and packed for safe transit. For a big order we can talk about packing it by design or by batch if that helps you.
What if my order runs late?
We keep you posted on WhatsApp the whole way. If anything's going to affect your date, you'll hear it from us early, not at the last minute.
Can a large order come in phases?
Yes. For big or ongoing orders we'll happily stagger production and delivery to line up with your schedule.
How do you keep quality consistent?
Every order gets checked before it leaves (colour, clean edges, sharp text, secure folds, correct size), all against the sample you approved.
What if a label turns up faulty?
If there's a genuine manufacturing fault against the approved sample, message us on WhatsApp straight away and we'll sort it out.
Will my reorders match the first batch?
They should, closely. We hold your artwork, colours, size and recipe on file, so repeat runs come out matching the original.
Do you check orders before shipping?
Yes: every order goes through a quality check for defects, colour and finishing before it's packed and sent.
Will the colour fade in the wash?
Woven labels hold up well because the colour is in the thread itself. Printed labels use durable inks; for heavy industrial laundry we'll recommend the most wash-resistant option.
How should I check my labels when they arrive?
Hold them against the sample you approved: spelling, colour, size, fold, edges, the count. If something's genuinely off, flag it quickly and we'll help.
Do you work with D2C and Instagram fashion brands?
All the time. Neck labels, care labels, size tabs, patches: whatever a small fashion brand needs, at the 1,000-per-design minimum.
Do you make sportswear and jersey labels?
Yes: soft woven labels, heat-press tagless labels, and name & number labels for jerseys and team kits.
Do you do school and college uniform labels?
We do: wash-proof woven labels, student name tabs and care labels matched to institutional laundry, for schools and uniform suppliers alike.
Do you supply hotels and hospitality?
Yes. Industrial-wash-safe linen, towel and uniform labels, with the recipe locked so restocks match across every property.
Do you make boutique and ethnic-wear labels?
That's a sweet spot for us: premium damask and jacquard labels, gold-thread accents, mitre-fold finishing, for sarees, lehengas, kurtas and bridal wear.
Do you make yoga and activewear labels?
Yes: tagless heat-press, soft satin and organic cotton-tape labels made for stretch fabrics and eco-minded brands.
Do you do hostel and boarding-school labels?
We do: wash-proof name and number labels that stop shared-laundry mix-ups, with roster-based personalisation for a whole group of students at once.
Do you supply garment exporters?
Regularly. Exporters usually order durable taffeta care and brand labels from us in bulk, matched to the destination market's requirements.
Do you make uniform labels for restaurants, hospitals or security?
Yes: durable brand and care labels for restaurant, hospital, security, petrol-pump and other workwear uniforms.
Do you make kidswear and babywear labels?
We do, with a focus on soft, safe, tagless or low-irritation labels that won't bother a child's skin.
